Leading up to the Yale Vlock Building Project, this four week exercise involved designing temporary housing for itinerant musicians.

The Hostel has competing identities: one is a compacted, spatially interlocking concrete housing unit and the other is a transparent aerie of musician practice rooms that face an open park. The two systems hybridize through an extension of platforms from the housing unit that link to the public domain. A funicular incline highlights this lateral movement as it structurally suspends half the building above the park.
